Haiyun's research interests span tele-operation, dexterous hand design and control, and wearable pneumatic soft robotic systems for rehabilitation. He tries to realize safe robot interaction through compliant mechanism and controller design.
His research philosophy is to strike a balance between the complexity of mathematical theories and practical engineering. He seeks to identify portable components that can be applied in broad automated production.
